Hertsmere Borough Council

A full chamber upgrade for Hertsmere Borough Council delivered a modern, fully integrated meeting environment with custom microphones, automated camera tracking, and advanced AV systems. The solution enhances meeting efficiency, voting functionality, and live webcasting capabilities for both in-room and remote audiences.

Hertsmere Borough Council, serving a large population in south Hertfordshire, required a modern, reliable chamber solution to support effective council meetings, decision-making, and public engagement. The objective was to upgrade the existing facilities with advanced conferencing, voting, and audiovisual technology to improve communication, streamline operations, and enable high-quality live streaming for wider accessibility.

The council have decided to upgrade their chamber meeting solution. Auditel was awarded the chamber upgrade with the council in November 2024, commenced in December 2024 and completed in January 2025.

• Custom Digital Microphones: 72 microphones. Each digital microphone has been custom designed, including a 3 way electronic voting system, with custom wording for the voting and control buttons.

• HD Camera System: 4 x 1080p PTZ tracking cameras, positioned around the room to provide full coverage of the council meetings.

• Microphone & Camera Control: The ACCS PC system allows operators to manage active microphones, with automatic speech timers and PTZ cameras that track speakers, reducing manual effort during webcasts.

• Visual Tools: The main visuals within the chamber are the LED wall screens which measure 5m x 2.5m and can display up to 4 different images at any one time. The chamber is also equipped with 2 x 85″ LED screens positioned on either wall.

• Speaker System: 8 column speakers paired into separate audio zones to allow for individual zone control.

• Webcasting: The new webcasting solution allows the client to broadcast directly to YouTube and their own website.
